CSSA Looks to Grow and Recruit new Staff

Membership Advisor

 

The Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) represents the interests of contract cleaning business across the UK. We promote a professional cleaning industry, represent member’s interests to Government and provide a range of membership services. We are looking to recruit a Membership Advisor to lead in the recruitment and retention of members. 

 

The Membership Advisor will:

 

·         Develop and maintain a live database of qualified potential new members for the CSSA

·         Develop marketing strategies for the CSSA to contract cleaning companies as potential members and other cleaning industry stakeholders as potential associate members

·         Contact potential CSSA members and recruit them into membership

 

·         Arrange networking and educational events for CSSA members to attend

·         Develop event marketing to ensure full attendance at events

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

·         Strong IT skills including full MS Office suite and other relevant IT applications,

·         Negotiation skills;

·         Trade Association experience;

·         Presentation skills;

·         Ability to work well under pressure on own initiative;

·         Patience and diplomacy;

 

Salary               £22,500 per annum plus performance bonus

Policy Intern (6 month fixed term contract)

 

The Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) represents the interests of contract cleaning business across the UK. We promote a professional cleaning industry, represent member’s interests to Government and provide a range of membership services.

 

We wish to recruit a Policy Intern on a 6 month fixed term contract to reinforce our Government Affairs effort.

 

This is a development role, and the CSSA will therefore provide opportunities for active participation in the policy process, including meetings with UK MPs, civil servants and participation in the work of the cleaning industry’s European Association.

 

The Policy Intern will:

 

·         Scan Government websites and other stakeholder groups for policies and initiatives of interest to the cleaning sector

·         Develop policy on key issues (in agreement with the Chief Executive) for approval by the CSSA Board

·         Draft policy papers on these issues for publication

·         Develop relations with key officials and committees on key issues to ensure that the CSSA policy position is understood

·         Draft press releases, speeches and other materials for the Chief Executive, Chairman and other Board members as appropriate

·         Maintain a database of key contacts in Parliament and more widely

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

·         IT skills including full MS Office suite

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality;

·         Negotiation skills;

·         Politics, Government, Public Policy or similar qualification or ongoing studies

·         Presentation skills;

·         Ability to work well under pressure on own initiative;

 

Salary               National Minimum Wage – plus 2 weeks paid holiday

Location:           City of London
